Indonesian Worker in Malaysia Faces Possible Death Penalty

wilfrida-trialWilfrida Soik, a 20-year old Indonesian migrant worker, could face the death penalty if found guilty of killing her employer. Originally the court was expected to give its verdict on Monday, but has now been adjourned to November 17th because of new evidence. One of the new pieces of evidence is that she was only 17 years old when she started working in Malaysia, and her documents were changed to state she was older. Soik is the latest in a long line of human-trafficking victims from Indonesia in Malaysia.

Pray for all those involved to have wisdom in how to handle this case.
