A second volcano has erupted in Indonesia. Mount Kelud in East Java violently erupted Thursday evening. The eruption could be heard up to 125 miles away. One Indonesian described it as sounding like “…thousands of bombs exploding.” The ash has spread as far as west as Yogyakarta, with some villages having ash 8 inches deep. All of the airports in East and Central Java have been closed, as airplanes have no visibility, and there is concern about the ash getting into the engines. Everyone in a 6-mile radius around Kelud was evacuated, numbering over 100,000.
Pray for the victims of eruption, and those who will be doing relief with the victims.
